John Varvatos is one of the few well known, luxury designers from Detroit. His designs are often gritty and reminiscent of Detroit’s automobile and rock and roll history; he uses rivets and heavily fades much of his pieces, similar to the clothing a factory worker might wear. His Fall12′ collection can be viewed here. Check out his take on a fur lined jacket, often thought to be very “Detroit”.
Varvatos has also worked with Chrysler to develop a version of their 300 sedan. It exemplifies luxury, power, and a dark character that is reminding of the cities dark past. Read about it here.
