John Varvatos and Detroit’s Automobile Fasion

John Varvatos is one of the few well known, luxury designers from Detroit. His designs are often gritty and reminiscent of Detroit’s automobile and rock and roll history; he uses rivets and heavily fades much of his pieces, similar to the clothing a factory worker might wear. His Fall12′ collection can be viewed here. Check out his take on a fur lined jacket, often thought to be very “Detroit”.

Varvatos has also worked with Chrysler to develop a version of their 300 sedan. It exemplifies luxury, power, and a dark character that is reminding of the cities dark past. Read about it here
